The Alpha Omega. My kids got to tall for the infant carrier at 6 mos. So they were converted to the alpha omega — rear facing. It can then be turned around and even used as a booster. So my daugther, who is now 4.5 has been in her same car seat for 4 years!!
The britax decathlon. It is expensive, but so worth it.

i saw some in the last catalog i got, but i’ve already thrown it out.
After our daughters were out of their carriers this is the seat we used…and it’s still going strong on our 3rd! We’ve switched it up a little for each child and bought a new carseat cover to make it look new and more fun but it lasts forever, well worth the price!

I’m in Australia using the Safe-n-Sound Compaq which is really good for smaller cars as it’s a bit narrower but it’s capacity for child is the same. It goes from Birth to 18kgs I think.
The Britax Decathlon would actually be ideal. You can use it rear facing, I believe up to 33lbs and then turn it forward facing. It also comes with an infant insert which is great since it comforts the infant until you use the car seat forward facing and it also has a three point adjustable crotch strap which really great so this way your little one can grow into the seat. You can use this seat up to 65lbs of weight, which at that point you would only have to buy a booster seat afterwards….saves you money….the Britax Decathlon would definitely be the way to go.
